Wellbeing of Mind
Kairos has a wide range of ways that we provide wrap-around support
to our students and families.
Research informs us that for student learning to occur, a safe learning environment must be established.
For this to occur, the student needs to be provided with wrap-around support, clear consistent structures, and boundaries.
Our students come to us with a diverse range of needs but are linked by a common educational goal providing a unified purpose. Students are supported by all staff to develop strategies to fully engage in the classroom, the school community, and the broader community.
Once students develop a sense of agency over their learning, they are encouraged to contribute to the tribe. To maintain a safe environment, a clear set of principles are put in place. These principles are Safety, Legal, Honesty, Respect and Participation. All tribe members need to adhere to these principles, creating a learning community, not just a classroom of individual learners.
Two fulltime Youth Workers at each campus support students through the development of a bi-annual Personalised Learning Plan that meets their individual needs and supports their engagement in the classroom and beyond. The Youth Workers aim to build each students skills with their emotional regulation, personal growth, and wellbeing development.
